Seleucid Kingdom. Seleucus I, 312-280 BC. AR Tetradrachm (16.4 g), of Alexandrine type. Uncertain mint (Aradus?), struck c. 311-300 BC. Head of youthful Herakles right, wearing lion's skin. Reverse: Zeus enthroned left, holding eagle and scepter; Seleucid anchor and monogram at left, Γ beneath throne. Price 3351; CSE 683 var. Metal lightly porous, but attractive style, boldly struck in exceptionally high relief. Toned. Choice Very Fine.
