Kings of Thrace. Lysimachos, 323-281 BC. One of the finest overall examples we've ever handled! AR Tetradrachm (17.1g), Lampsakos, struck 297/6 - 282/1 BC. Head of deified Alexander the Great right, with diadem and horn of Ammon at ear. Reverse: Athena enthroned left, arm on shield and holding Nike; torch at left. Thompson 43. Choice centering on a broad round flan. Boldly and fully struck in a fine restrained, elegant yet realistic style. Light, slightly iridescent toning. Good Extremely Fine.
