Sicily. Syracuse. Agathokles, 317-289 BC. AR Tetradrachm (17.3 g), struck c. 317-310 BC. Head of Arethusa left, hair wreathed in grain, surrounded by four dolphins. Reverse: Charioteer in fast quadriga left, triskeles above; ethnic and monogram in exergue. Basel 510 var; Dewing 943. Clean, sharp strike, with a little residual luster. Faintly toned. Very attractive overall. Extremely Fine.
