Reverse: Head of Arethusa right, wearing both pearl diadem and ribbon in her hair, four dolphins around, swimming clockwise. Boeh. 203. Finely centered on full flan. Usual worn obverse die; reverse very sharp, with especially charming late archaic portrait. Toned. Very Fine / about Extremely Fine.

The reverse here an unusual variation in that the nymph wears a ribbon in addition to the typical pearls. There are a few dies with this design variation, most of which seemed to be grouped around Boehringer 104-121, These perhaps the work of one or two engravers.

Realized $2,128
