Sicily. Syracuse, c. 480-475 BC. AR Tetradrachm (17.3 g). Charioteer leans forward in slow quadriga right; Nike, above right, crowns horses. Reverse: Head of Arethusa right, wearing beaded headband, surrounded by four dolphins; ethnic at right. Boehringer 247; Randazzo 417 (this coin); Dewing 743 (same dies). Obverse nicely centered and quite well struck. Reverse sharp, with several fine die breaks, and some surface roughness at right. Lightly toned. Extremely Fine.
