Lot 4244

1917 McKinley Gold Dollar. PCGS graded MS-66. This one is toned with the central areas showing hints of purplish blue while the peripheries are a dark gold color. Fully struck by the dies, with mark free surfaces and fields. It is unusual to find any color at all on these tiny coins, so between the high end grade, glowing luster and delightful colors, we suspect this one could bring a strong price. PCGS has graded 215 this high, with just 37 higher, all MS-67, above. In an older green insert PCGS holder.
Estimated Value $4,000 - 4,500.

Realized $5,750
