1907. $5 Legal Tender Note, Pioneer Family or Woodchopper. F-85. Choice Uncirculated. . Fr-85. The front depicts Andrew Jackson, seventh President of the United States in the lower left from a painting by Thomas Sully and the central vignette is the Pioneer Family which was engraved by Henry Gugler. The left margin is tight, and a few tiny edge nicks are present. The pioneer or wood chopper seems to be torn between the delights of chopping and stacking a large pile of wood or going off hunting with the family dog, while the women of the house and baby await his decision. This note combines the red "V" and "Dollars" on the left, with red serial numbers B36468256.
Estimated Value $200 - 250.
