Lot 2264

1837 Capped Bust Half Dollar. PCGS graded MS-64 Premium Quality. Creamy and bright white in color, without a trace of toning to be found. The fields and face on Liberty are exceptional for the grade, and we can locate only the faintest traces of hairlines from gentle handling. Fully struck by the new steam press at the Philadelphia Mint, with excellent details on the uppermost curls on Liberty and similar sharpness on the eagle's feathers and claws. Perfect for the type collector who needs something quite beautiful. When examined, not in particular the full "spin" or cartwheel luster that this coin boasts.
Estimated Value $5,000 - 6,000.
