Lot 1792

Grateful Dead at the Cafe Au Go-Go. 1967. The Grateful Dead in their first club date in New York -- June 1-10, 1967. Created by artist Daniel Fennell, this scarce 10 x 20" poster is matted and framed to museum standards, overall size 15 x 25". One horizontal fold, scattered minor surface soil, very faint dampstaining at top edge visible only on close inspection; a few tiny nicks to edges. Overall, very good condition.

Seldom offered for sale, this rare poster commemorates what for many was a life-changing event -- their first live Dead show. Popular on the West Coast for a couple of years, the Grateful Dead's trip to New York was an eye-opener for the audiences that had only heard them on recordings. This is a great opportunity for the Grateful Dead fan/collector to add this very desirable poster to their collection.
Art of Rock #3.163.
Estimated Value $2,000 - 3,000.

Realized $1,840
