Ohio Execution Cabinet Card. An "O.P. Annex Souvenir" with "Photos Made From Life" -- a composite image featuring portraits of 23 inmates executed in Ohio between 1897 and 1905, with the Ohio electric chair pictured prominently in the upper left corner. The reverse of the postcard is printed with a key to the portraits, the crime each inmate committed and date of his execution. Surface soil throughout; minor fading to image; toning and soil verso. Overall, good condition.
An unusual cabinet card, these "death house" collectibles always generate discussion, particularly in light of today's ongoing death penalty debates.
