18 Backplate 129 Engraving Error. These Eighteen $1 FRNs from 1981A had their back plate #129 shifted from the usual right side to the left side of the back of the note. They are all H-B block and are slabbed by either PCGS or PMG as follows: 63PPQ - 1, 64PPQ - 1, 65PPQ - 3, 66PPQ - 8, 66EPQ - 1, and 67PPQ - 4. Estimated Value $400 - 800
We see these errors occasionally offered on eBay at pricing that varies from $20 to $200 per note. We'll start the bidding incredibly cheap at $200 for the 18 notes. The holders alone are worth far more than that.
