This $1 1988 FRN with no known serial number has been graded PMG 64 EPQ Choice Uncirculated and is a fresh as the day it escaped from the Bureau of Engraving & Printing. There is no green seal or serial number on either the front or the back of this pristine note. Estimated Value $500 - 800
Collectors may wonder why some errors that appear identical to another of the same variety are graded 64 rather than 65 or 66. Both PCGS and PMG have taken the posture that the centering on the face of the note influences the final grade of the error. This note has imperfect face margins, but we would argue that face margins are not a drawback on an error note at all.
