Must have Type II $100 Big Head Invert Error. This $100 1996 FRN Serial # AK30793760A has been graded PMG 65EPQ Gem Uncirculated. The green and black inks are both extremely bold and a nice portion of the top note is featured on the face of this rarity. Estimated Value $3,000 - 5,000
The fourth edition of the Bart Comprehensive Guidebook to United States Paper Money Errors does not list this type of error for a big head $100. We would suggest it has a value equal to the small head version of this error with inflation factored in, as the fourth edition was published some eight years ago. This would be an "R-7" class of error note.
Type II invert errors are considered "R-7"s on a scale of R-1 being the most common type of error to "R-9"s being the rarest, such double denomination errors. Our bid range estimate may prove low on this rarity.
