Silver Chamberlain’s Key from the Court of Catherine the Great (1762-1796). Length 7 ½ in (192 mm). The head of the key is formed by a crowned Imperial eagle, shield on its breast with the crowned cipher of Catherine II. Foliate-entwined fluted shank, ending in a leafed ball, the key bit in the form of a St. Andrew Cross. Very rare 18th Century decoration. Estimated Value $10,000 - UP Condition: Toned and well-preserved.
