24 Karat Yellow Gold Facsimile of a Greek Stater of Istros, ca. 400-350 BC Perfect for Use in Jewelry. Offered is one of 15 lots of 24K (tested) yellow gold facsimiles of ancient coinage from ancient Rome and Greece. Superb craftsmanship and detail make these pieces perfect for use in jewelry satisfying the most discriminating client due to their beauty and gold content. On the obverse are two male heads, side by side, one upright the other inverted. Not exactly "Comedy and Tragedy" as that originated in Greece around 500 BC but the appeal is similar. On the verso is eagle with a dolphin fish in its claws. 11.91 grams, 19.32 mm. Estimated Value $800 - 1,000
