Apulian Red Figured Footed Plate with Winged Eros Holding Garland. Southern Italy, Apulia, ca. 4th century BCE. Red figure glazed ceramic plate which sits on a short base, featuring winged Eros, nude, offering a garland. Plate is decorated with a progressive spiral or wave pattern surrounding Eros, with another pattern of elongated designs painted with white slip with the rim finished in repeated black strokes. Pottery is intact with some discoloration yet remaining very presentable. 1 x 8 x 8". Estimated Value $300 - 600
