Lot 633

Collection of Ethnic Arts: Large Colima Figure, Mola and Balinese Angel on Custom Marble Stand. Three wonderful examples of ethnic arts from around the world:
1.) Large Colima figure of a sitting man. Piece was acquired with very well done restoration to the legs. Visible only at close inspection, the variations in red and black slip do a fine job in "camouflaging" the hairline cracks. Still a fantastic piece with striking details painted on his back. 14 x 7 x 8"
2.) Fine mola textile from the San Blas islands of three rabbits and possibly a frog. Vibrant black and red colors that mesmerize. 13½ x 15½". Superior condition.
3.) Vintage polychrome painted, carved wooden angel kneeling on one leg. Sculpture sits on custom marble stand and post. In relic condition, the wings are slightly loose nailed to the body. (The nails do speak to the considerable age to this piece given how oxidized) 13½" inches tall including base.

Note, this lot will require two separate shipments. Estimated Value $300 - 600
From The Personal Collection of Michael James Jackson.

Realized $188
