Andy Warhol. World Federation of United Nations Associations (Boldly Signed). Andy Warhol, one of the most influential artists of the 20th Century in 1979 created a philatelic art print, an offset lithograph, with a first-day cancellation to accompany new editions of United Nation stamps. Published in 1979 the lithographs are 8½ x 11" with the image 7 x 8½" with the art print having a first day cancellation of the stamp affixed to lower left corner. Edition: 1,000 signed in felt pen vertically along the right margin and numbered in pencil lower center. There is also a small printed signature lower right; 500 have a U.S. stamp, and 500 have a Swiss stamp hence the odd numbering with this particular example 844/500 and having the Swiss stamp. These were published to raise funds for the educational programs of the World Federation of United Nations Associations.
