Arthur Okamura. Flowers. Arthur Okamura (Californian, 1932-2009) Modernist landscape, still life and portrait painter. For years Arthur Okamura painted and exhibited prodigiously and then began teaching. In 1997 Arthur retired from teaching at the California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland, California, where he taught for 31 years. Offered is an original watercolor which has never been exhibited but very well archived. 24 x 18½" on cream colored stock and signed and dated "Okamura, 1966" Beautiful example of mid-century modernist still life.
