Preston Sturgess entertained millions from 1940 through WWII and the immediate years thereafter. His films are as witty and beguiling as they were back then which speaks to his popularity even today. They are many times refreshingly risqué yet in no way crossing any lines. SULLIVAN'S TRAVELS, THE LADY EVE and THE PALM BEACH STORY made back to back remains an incredible feat of filmmaking.
