KISS: The immensely popular and spectacularly theatrical rock/metal band known for their comic-book styled costumes, makeup and stagecraft. Ignoring the performance aspects, KISS more importantly delivered rock music that proved a sensation beginning in the late 1970s and through the 1980s creating a fan base that has kept them touring to present day. In the 1980s Michael James Jackson was their producer and these gold and platinum records in this auction are from his personal collection. "Smashes, Thrashes & Hits" a compilation album was released in 1988 and was certified Double Platinum by the RIAA for sales of more than 2,000,000 albums, cassettes and compact discs.
