10 British Prime Ministers Signatures: 18th - Early 20th Century: Robert Walpole, Robert Cecil Salisbury, Lord Henry Palmerston, Lord Russell +. Outstanding collection of 10 signature by British Prime Ministers from the late 18th Century to the Early 20th Century in excellent condition. Included are:
1.) Robert Walpole, widely recognized as the first Prime Minister of Britain, serving 1721-1742 signing with other notables including the Lord of Treasury George Arenden and politicians George Dodington and William Clayton clearly lifted from a single page document. There is a corner tear in the upper left corner that in no way impacts any of the signatures.
2.) William Lamb served 1834 again 1835-1841. Signed free franked panel signed as Melbourne (Lord Melbourne)
3.) Robert Peel served 1834-35 again 1831-1846. Signed free frank panel as Robert Peel
4.) John Russell served 1846-52, again 1865-1866 TWO signed pieces": A note addressed to "His Grace the Archbishop of Canterbury is The Chairman, Ecclesiastical Commission" signed as Russell and a free franked signed by John Russell.
5. William Gladstone served 4 times as Prime Minister, 1868-74, 1880-85, 1886, 1892-94. Signed free frank with wax seal intact signed W. Gladstone.
6.) Robert Cecil, 3rd Marquis Salisbury, served 1885-1892, 1895-1902, Signed free franked panel with Salisbury written 3 times!
7.) Henry Lord Palmerston served 1855-58, 1859-1865 franked panel with intact official royal seal
8.) Arthur James Balfour. Superior inscribed and signed 9 x 6" silver nitrate portrait photo in original folio beautifully signed in mat.
9.) Herbert Henry Asquith 1st Earl of Oxford boldly signed free frank. Estimated Value $500 - 900
