Johnson, Lyndon Baines: ~100 Vintage Original AP and UPI Press Photos of LBJ, The First Lady and Family During Presidency from the Boston Herald (1908-1973) One of the most significant US Presidents of the 20th Century, his legacy still being evaluated and re-evaluated, Robert Caro's books probably being the most celebrated. But Ladybird Johnson is also having a bit of a renaissance with the new biography by Julia Sweig. The two feature prominently in these historic photos by AP and UPI. Just at 100 vintage original photos and so many of them burned into memory and history. Fantastic images of Johnson campaigning, meeting world leaders, dramatic images of him speaking and there are several photos of note about Johnson's dogs including Him and Her. (Johnson caused something of an outrage when he picked up Him by it's ears.) There are also wonderful images of Ladybird as well as daughters Lynda and Luci who also found themselves in the news being First Family. Most photos are 8 x 10 with several cropped for publication as is the norm. Almost all have stamps of the photo services on verso with typed info identifying the news within the photo. Very good to fine condition obviously all showing evidence of handling as they were used. Estimated Value $200 - 500
