Apollo 11: Buzz Aldrin's Signing "The True, First Words" Spoken on the Moon & Charles Duke Writing the First Words From Earth to Another World. Everyone is familiar with Armstrong's quote when stepping on the moon and likely 9 out of 10 people would say they were the first words broadcast. from there. But Buzz Aldrin is more than happy to clear that up. As the Eagle set down on the lunar surface, at least one of the probes attached to the three footpads had touched the surface and Aldrin called it at 20:17:40 GMT/UTC "Contact Light" then immediately "Engine Stop".
Charles Duke as CAPCOM for Apollo 11 (and Apollo 16 Moonwalker) radioed "Roger, we copy you down Eagle" which he has written below Buzz Aldrin's notes and signature with Duke confirming in his hand his transmission and signing boldly as "Charles Duke Apollo 11 CAPCOM Apollo 16 Moonwalker". Handsomely matted to 15 x 11". Mint condition. Letter of Authenticity by Zarelli Space Authentication. A fantastic piece for any level of collector. Estimated Value $2,000 - 4,000
Ex James Ruddy Collection.

Realized $4,000
