Virgil "Gus" Grisham Astronaut Command Pilot of Mercury 4, Gemini 3 and Apollo 1 Signed Check Dated 20 Feb, 1964 (1926-1967) Celebrated pilot and astronaut who was assigned to three different programs at NASA; Project Mercury, Gemini and Apollo. Grissom, commander of AS-204 (Apollo 1), died along with his fellow astronauts Ed White and Roger B. Chaffee on January 27, 1967, during a pre-launch test for the Apollo 1. Posthumously, Grisham has been awarded countless honors, enshrined at numerous memorial sites and buildings bearing his name. Offered is a signed customer draft to a jewelry company dated Feb. 20, 1964 drawn from First Pasadena (Texas) State Bank to National Bank of Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio. From the Estate of Virgil I. Grissom, with LOA from his son Mark Grissom. Condition: bottom left tip missing due to staple. Estimated Value $500 - 800
