Lot 564

1893 Barber Dime. PCGS graded Proof 67. Blue around the rims, gray in the fields, and gold fading to white on the devices. Certainly one of the very finest known of the date, to which PCGS agrees as they note 13 graded this high and just one single coin graded higher. Fully struck by the dies, and remarkably well preserved, including Liberty's delicate cheek, which all to often shows disturbances from handling. Not so here, everything is perfectly pristine, right down to the vibrant blue and gold colors.
Estimated Value $2,300 - 2,700.
From the Benson collection and purchased from James Macallister on March 31, 1944 as part of a set from 1858 to 1915 for $195.00.

Realized $2,990
