Lot 270

1914-S Buffalo Nickel. PCGS graded MS-63. Satiny gold luster throughout and with a decent strike for this normally weak date. Tiny flecks of color on both sides, and well preserved for the moderate grade assigned. Sharp on the horn and head, but a bit of weakness on the split end of the tail. A scarce date that is seldom offered in choice grades.
Estimated Value $300 - 350.
From the Benson Collection and purchased on October 3, 1944 from Ira S. Reed in a set of nickels from 1913 to 1938 for $350.00.

Realized $316
