Lot 268

1914-D Buffalo Nickel. PCGS graded MS-63. As a date, 1914-D is better struck than later Denver issues, with better device detail throughout. This one has a couple of tiny die cracks, one through RT of LIBERTY, then there is a short pair of cracks from the rim to the bison's tail, and another past CENTS to the ground. Speckled toning as seen on all the coins from this set.
Estimated Value $250 - 350.
From the Benson Collection and purchased on October 3, 1944 from Ira S. Reed in a set of nickels from 1913 to 1938 for $350.00.

Realized $575
