Lot 1888
1856-C $2.50 Liberty. Sharpness of AU-50 but repaired. This coin has been repaired by someone smoothing a scratch in the left obverse field, or buffing down that area and then attempting to hide the work done by buffing the area further. The reverse also has areas of porosity surrounding the devices. Certainly a coin to be inspected, as this is a rare date and many aren't this nice.
