Lot 1731

1936 Robinson-Arkansas Half Dollar. These all grade MS-65 and better. Also included with these coins is the original cardboard mailing holder, which, incidentally, is from our friends Stack's in New York. Like the Goldberg's, Stack's was founded in the 1930's and both the Goldberg family and the Stack's family have been in the rare coin auction business for three generations so far. Stack's was involved with the distribution of these Robinson-Arkansas commemorative half dollars in 1936, and rarely do we encounter the original cardboard holders anymore, most having been discarded over the years. The holder itself is in fine condition, with bright ink and nice corners. The coins though, are truly spectacular, with tab toning from long storage in the holders, and superb surfaces throughout. If you have ever wondered what a truly "original" coin looks like, then stop for a minute and study these. Note specifically the blazing luster, "tab" outline toning and general eye appeal. Lot of 5 coins.
Estimated Value $750-UP.
