1897 Morgan Dollar. PCGS graded Proof 64. With a mintage of 731 in Proof, this was a scarce issue from the date it was coined. As to the surfaces, they show some hairlines and are toned a bluish gray color with darker shades at the periphery. Grade wise, this one is at the mid range, with PCGS reporting 38 so graded, 48 graded higher. Well struck and preserved.
Estimated Value $1,500 - 1,700.
From the Benson collection and purchased privately from B. Max Mehl on July 29, 1945 for $17.25.
