Collection of Signed Photos by Paul Tibbets, Charles W. Sweeny and Signed Covers by Fellow Bombadiers. Paul Warfield Tibbets Jr. (1915-2007) is best known as the aircraft captain who flew the B-29 Superfortress known as the Enola Gay when it dropped a Little Boy, the first of two atomic bombs used in warfare, on the Japanese city of Hiroshima.
Charles W. Sweeney (1919-2004) flew Bockscar carrying the Fat Man atomic bomb to the Japanese city of Nagasaki on August 9, 1945.
Offered are four (4) inscribed and signed B&W 8 x 10 photos of the B-29 by Tibbets. There are 6 photos B & W signed and inscribed 8 x 10 photos of his airplane or in the cockpit and 4 covers signed by Charles Sweeney
There are also Three covers signed by Paul Tibbets, Tom Ferebee, George R. Caron, Theodore Van Kirk and one other. All pieces in excellent condition. Estimated Value $800 - 1,200
