Trove of Civil War Ephemera: Three (3) Cannonballs, Antique G.A.R. Metal Pin on Slouch Hat, and Over 75 Fired Bullets Most Identified Where Found. Fine collection of Civil War ephemera.
1.) Three cannonballs: Best is a 2.15 pounder 2.5" in Diameter that sits on a stand with plaque found near Vicksburg Battlefield in excellent condition. The other two are 1.15 pounders with heavy oxidation and pitting 2.25" in diameter.
2.) Felt "Slouch Hat" of considerable age and wear with a metal cast GAR. The Grand Army of the Republic was a fraternal organization composed of veterans of the Union Army, Union Navy, and the Marines who served in the American Civil War. It was founded in 1866
3.) 75 Fired bullets obtained by respected collectors and dealers with most having the areas where found noted. Locations included are Manassas, Antietam, Gettysburg, Kennesaw Mountain, Shiloh, Bull Run, Richmond, Spottsylvania, Appomattox, Chancellorsville, Fredericksburg and Cold Harbor. Many of the notation cards identify the weapons fired.
4.) Vintage original fancy Civil War white pipe, a few buttons and a cotton bag with two hand made fuses. Estimated Value $300 - 600
