The Danbury Mint In England, the oldest private mint in the world, from 1969-1971 struck 13,885 cameo proof sterling silver medal sets of all of the U.S. astronauts who went into space with each medal weighing 20.8 grams. The medals along with complete description cards for each medal include the Mercury program for Mercury III to Mercury IX, the Gemini program for Gemini III to Gemini XII and the Apollo Program from Apollo VII to Apollo XVII.
