John Wooden (1910-2010) "The Wizard of Westwood" won ten National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) national championships in a 12-year period as head coach for the UCLA Bruins, including a record seven in a row.
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (1947-), then Lew Alcindor, played for UCLA from 1966-1969 UCLA winning 88 regular season losing only two while there.
