Stunning Byzantine Style Cross, High Karat Yellow Gold with Emeralds, Garnet and Tiny Seed Pearls, Late 1700s. Wonderful late 1700s Byzantine cross in beautiful condition as well as a striking, wearable piece. Pendant has 5 rectangular emeralds centered with a garnet cabochon finely polished. Seed pearls are strung on gold wire then affixed around all edges with only a very few missing. A sturdy bail (loop) is of a size that can accommodate a large chain. Pendant is 2¼ x 2" and weighs 18.16 grams with approximately 11.5 grams in 22K+ yellow gold. Excellent condition. Estimated Value $2,000 - 5,000
