Cypro-Mycenaean Pottery, Large Polychrome Amphora, Pigments Well Preserved and in Near Choice Condition. Ancient Cyprus was at the crossroads of the world and the island went through periods of a variety of cultural influences. From 700-600 B.C. the consistent pottery style is on full display with this wonderful piece. A beautiful polychrome amphora decorated with bands of red and black paint, the pigments strikingly well preserved. Overall this piece is in outstanding condition. There is only a one inch area of restoration on the edge of the mouth expertly done, as well as two much smaller chips and a small chip to base. But the entire body is intact and unrestored. An exceptionally handsome piece for any level of collector. 14 x 11 x 11". Estimated Value $2,000 - 5,000
