Very Scarce Edition Limited to Only 500 Copies (1943) Robert Crumb, counter culture icon and a prolific artist who contributed to many of the seminal works of the underground comix movement in the 1960s, founding (among others) Zap Comix, contributing to all 16 issues. During this time, inspired by psychedelics and cartoons from the 1920s and 1930s, he introduced a wide variety of characters that became extremely popular, including Fritz the Cat and Mr. Natural, and the images from his Keep On Truckin' strip.
Offered is one virtually mint copy of "R. Crumb, A Retrospective" that was published by owner Alex Acevedo and his gallery, Alexander Gallery, NYC. It was limited to only 500 copies which are extremely difficult to find. Acevedo signed and numbered his books by using the serial numbers off One Dollar bills which are then usually included in the volumes as is the case in this copy.
This retrospective is a must for any serious comic book collector and fans of Robert Crumb's distinct work and at times. Estimated Value $250 - 500
