Browning, Robert; Salutation and Signature + Algernon C. Swinburn ALS. Both in Deluxe Presentations (1812-1889) Robert Browning was an English poet and playwright known for his long poems "Pauline" (1833) and "Paracelsus" (1835), later his epic poem "The Ring and the Book" (1868–1869) and his spellbinding monologues. Offered is a cut signature, the conclusion of a larger letter, "Yours affectionately ever Robert Browning" 1½ x 3½" and very nicely framed to 14½ x 10½".
(1837-1909) Algernon C. Swinburg was, at times, quite the controversial poet and author addressing themes considered taboo at the time. But overall his works were held in such esteem, and cemented his reputation as one of the great lyrical poets of his time. ALS (signed A.C. Swinburne) acknowledging receipt to an unknown person of a check and is dated February 14, 1877. ALS is 7 x 5" framed to an overall presentation 20 x 20 which includes a superb, 1874 litho of him that ran in Vanity Fair entitled "Before Sunrise" by Carlo Pelligrini who illustrated under the pseudonym Ape.
