A beautiful example of French puppetry can be found in the artistry and details in this vintage marionette of an 18th Century bird seller. Exceptional work to the composite head with inlaid glass eyes, wonderful fabrics and trim to the clothes. But the details in the actual cages filled with birds are truly exceptional and colorful. Marionette "stands" 19" tall not including strings. Marionette is displayed in a stunning display case of plexi-glass and gold gilt base and top 23 x 14 x 14½". The cross-stick controller is screwed into the underside of the cabinet top and will be unscrewed for safe shipping. A knockout piece. Marionette and display case will be shipped in two boxes.
