Cromwell, Oliver: Signed Partial Manuscript as 'Oliver P' Dated August 12, 1657, Rare. Oliver Cromwell (1599-1658) Lord Protector of England, Scotland and Ireland. Partial document signed by Cromwell as Oliver P, Whitehall, August 12, 1657. Other notations include "For General Montague on board the Nafsby." Cromwell's signature displays obvious unsteadiness due to his malarial fevers that would be triggered frequently from terrible stress which ultimately led to severe ill health from a chest infection and pneumonia. Cromwell died only a year after signing this document. 10½ x 8½" partial document that remains is in fine condition with archival tape holding a minor split, minor chipping along one side.
