Scarce, Highly Sought, Elgin 717 Golf Ball Direct Read Jump Hour Wrist Watch, 1957. From the year 1957, an Elgin wrist watch in the shape of a golf ball with a jump hour mechanism that is highly unique. This watch is always a favorite by the scores of websites that highlight "Crazy Watches" or "Cool Vintage Watches". This example had the original leather band tossed due to condition. But the watch itself holds much potential. The 10K gold filled and stainless steel 30mm case is in solid condition and could be easily polished back to its original gleam. The manual wind watch works are in excellent condition but in need of servicing by a competent watch shop. Restored, these timepieces command $600 to $1000 and generate a lot of fan interest. Name engraved on verso, so lightly easily buffed out and dated 1957. Estimated Value $400 - 800
