Frederic Remington. "Coming Through The Rye". Los Angeles Poker Classic winning trophy from 2020 "OVERALL PLAYER OF THE SERIES held at Commerce Casino, the longest running poker tournament series in L.A. The Classic chose very fine bronze castings of Frederic Remington's sculptures for their most prestigious awards. Winner was Hermilo Vargas.
(1861-1909) Frederic Remington,America's most celebrated and beloved Western artist of the late 19th early 20th Century whose art has been the favorite of many American presidents. Offered is one of his most dramatic works by Remington first cast in 1902 and inspired by the artist's own illustrations, one published in "Century Magazine" in October 1888 and the other in "Harper’s Weekly" in December 1889. Four cowboys, pistols raised and at full gallop, are in a tight, boisterous formation; cast in bronze and mounted to dark wood base. One side of base has plaque LAPC 2020 OVERALL PLAYER OF THE SERIES, the opposing side "COMING THROUGH THE RYE" by FREDERIC REMINGTON. 14"(tall including base) x 14½" (wide) x 10" (deep) and weighs 49.8 pounds.
