Georgene McGonagle. "Ferdinand The Bull". Georgene McGonagle is well known for her outdoor installation throughout the US as well as her desktop sculptures of wildlife, children playing, and figures. A Colorado native in a very short career has enjoyed over 30 public placements, has enjoyed countless accolades and still working today. Offered is a limited edition bronze that captures all the whimsy and joy of Ferdinand The Bull written by Munro Leaf, published in 1936, a Disney short film in 1938 and a 2017 film by Fox Animation Studios that was nominated for an Academy Award. While not exactly recreating either film's looks, McGonagle has gone several steps further and captured the essence of all interpretations of Ferdinand and landed a perfectly stylized look in bronze. 8.5 x 5 x 9.5" a limited edition of #15/35 and signed. Provenance: Purchased from Richard Danskin Gallery in Palm Desert for over $1400.00. Estimated Value $1,000 - 1,200
From the Collection of Sally Ann Skeoch.
