Hirschfeld, Al. "The Merchant of Venice" Signed and Numbered Lithograph. (1903-2003) Immensely popular American caricaturist who also proved one of the most important figures in contemporary illustrations influencing two generations of artists, cartoonist and illustrators with his pure lines in black ink. During his 80 years actively working, Hirschfeld chronicled nearly all the major entertainment figures of the 20th century on stage, film, radio and television. Goldberg Auction's is auctioning nearly 20 of his signed, numbered, limited edition lithographs of some of his most popular works.

"The Merchant of Venice" Dustin Hoffman starred with Gerladine James, Nathaniel Parker and Leigh Lawson in a revival that British critics took from Hoffman a pound of flesh due to his accent, that nevertheless won over sold out audiences in London only to see the same standing room only for three months on Broadway.
