Hirschfeld, Al. "The Wild One" Signed Edition 91/160. (1903-2003) Al Hirschfeld combined black and white linear drawing with portraiture to develop one of the most innovative and iconic visual languages. Known as one of the most influential caricaturists in history, Hirschfeld went on to capture countless celebrities and Broadway stars with little more than his expressive black lines; a career with the NY Times spanning 75 years. Marlon Brando starred in what was the first outlaw biker gang film "The Wild One" in 1953 based on a motorcycle rally in Hollister, CA on July 4th weekend in 1947 that had its share of drunken brawls. Hirschfeld has captured Brando on his bike complete with motorcycle trophy strapped onto headlight. 19 x 15", signed in lower right corner, Edition 91/160, presented in cloth mat and is in superior condition.
