Hirschfeld, Al. "Lee Gong, Bali Dancer" Signed Edition 64/120. (1903-2003) Al Hirschfeld combined black and white linear drawing with portraiture to develop one of the most innovative and iconic visual languages. Known as one of the most influential caricaturists in history, Hirschfeld went on to capture countless celebrities and Broadway stars with little more than his expressive black lines; a career with the NY Times spanning 75 years. Lithograph depicting a dancer from Bali, Lee Gong, dressed in colorful traditional clothing in stunning use of colors unusual for Hirschfeld. Full color bleed, 26 x 20" in paper and cloth mat. A spectacular work by Hirschfeld. Hand signed in white pencil #64/120, and superior condition. Estimated Value $800 - 1,500
