Six Golden Age Hollywood Actors: Ronald Coleman, Dick Powell, George Murphy, Pat O'Brien, Preston Foster and Paul Henreid Signed Photos. Signed photos from the collection of Newton "Red" Jacobs while an executive at RKO Pictures until 1947. Later, Jacobs famously formed his own studio, Crown International Pictures, one of the kings of exploitation films and who imported and made a star of Sonny Chiba here in America. From his RKO collection, five oversized photos inscribed and signed by celebrated actors of Hollywood's Golden Age:
Ronald Colman (1891-1958) English born actor and one of the few whose transition from silent films into talkies earned even greater success. BULLDOG DRUMMOND, A TALE OF TWO CITIES, PRISONER OF ZENDA, RANDOM HARVEST and the remarkable LOST HORIZON. Nominated three times for Best Actor he won for A DOUBLE LIFE. Inscribed simply "Best Wishes, Ronald Colman". Colman was filming with Ginger Rogers at RKO LUCKY PARTNERS in 1940.
Dick Powell (phenomenal career from song and dance man in the 30s to a hard boiled character actor in the 40s and 50s) George Murphy, the legendary Pat O'Brien, Paul Henreid (Best Actor winner) and Preston Foster. All inscribed to Red or N.P Jacobs in steel point fountain pen with blue ink, all 11 x14 double weight portraits and in near to mint condition (Foster's white borders trimmed).
