Monty Hall Collection: Two Letters by Tommy Lasorda, One Handwritten, A Note to Marilyn Hall by Steve Garvey. and TLS by Murray Chass, NYtimes (1921-2017) The Monty Hall Collection of letters sent to him by a host of notables for his philanthropy and character. The man behind LET'S MAKE A DEAL and his wife, Marilyn were clearly admired by politicians, business leaders and highly regarded by his fellow entertainers as evident in a collection of wonderful letters in this auction. Two letters by LA Dodgers legend, Tommy Lasorda, in an undated letter on LA Dodgers letterhead (however around December 14 or 15, 1983) thanking him for hosting a team banquet event and how evidently what a tremendous job he did. Lasorda writes "I can't find words to describe my sincere gratitude for what you did for baseball and me". From the same event, wife Marilyn Hall took her table place card and had Steve Garvey autograph. "Marilyn a Special Woman and Sweetheart XX Steve Garvey 12/13/83. A second typed letter signed with handwritten closing sentiment on Tommy Lasorda Jr. Memorial Foundation letterhead thanking Hall for his donation to fund a gymnasium in the memory of Lasorda's son. Finally a typed note of thanks by sports writer for the NY Times and Baseball HOF Murray Chass to allow them to use a piece written by Monty Hall on the Bible and baseball. Estimated Value $250 - 500
