Goldberg Coins and Collectibles

Sale 128

Lot 820

1852 Wass, Molitor & Co. (San Francisco) $10 Gold. Large head. PCGS graded VF-20. CAC. Bold and struck in natural greenish color gold. A new find and just graded for the first time. Most of these early Territorial gold coins were melted soon after they were struck, certainly by the mid 1850s when the San Francisco Mint was in full operation in mid 1854. This rarity from the Wass, Molitor & Co. offers great original color and a sharp central strike. Minimal handling marks for the grade too. A classic example of this desirable issue. Graded for the First Time. (PCGS # 10348) Estimated Value $6,500 - 7,000

Realized $7,800
